Shrub and Bush Removal in Connecticut & Western Massachusetts

Overgrown shrubs and tired foundation plantings make a well-kept property look neglected. Cutting them back only buys a season, the root ball is still in the ground and by next summer it's back. We dig shrubs and bushes out completely, root and all, so the bed is clear for good and ready for whatever you want to put there instead.

Dug out at the root,

not just cut back

The difference between shrub removal and shrub trimming is what's left underground. A landscaper with loppers takes the top off. We take the whole plant, including the root ball, so nothing regrows and nothing has to be dealt with again in two years. When we're done, the bed is clean, level, and ready to replant, sod, mulch, or leave open.

What we remove

Foundation plantings that have outgrown the front of the house. Overgrown hedge rows along a property line or driveway. Old yews, junipers, boxwoods, forsythia, burning bush, and the rest of the usual suspects that were the right size fifteen years ago and aren't anymore. Single shrubs, a full row, or everything across the front of the house.

What to expect

Most shrub jobs are completed in a single visit often the same trip as a stump if you have both. Our equipment is compact and fits through a standard 36 inch gate, so backyards, fenced in beds, and tight side yard access aren't a problem. We work cleanly and leave the property better than we found it.
